The Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti, has held an online meeting with the new president of Cinecitta and other representatives of the Italian “giant”, for the establishment of a joint working group to consider all possibilities for the establishment of the museum, which will narrate the history of Albanian film.

“Now that the works for the Art Park have started, the establishment of a museum to narrate the history of Albanian film, within the spaces of the former Kinostudio, is even more tangible”, said the minister of of Culture, Elva Margariti, after the conversation with the president of Cinecittà, Chiara Sbarigia, the director of the historical archive “Luce”, Enrico Bufalini and the director of one of the curators of MIAC (Museo Italiano del Cinema e dell’Audiovisivo, Cinecittà), Roland Sejko .

“During the meeting, we presented opportunities for cooperation, gaining experience, setting up working groups, in order to move into concrete terms for the realization of this project, but also for solving some problems such as restoration and the digitization of the film archive”, said Margariti, who invited the Italian experts to Albania to visit the spaces of the Art Park, under construction.

Works on the construction of the Art Park have already started. The project supported by the European Union with an amount of one million euros foresees the creation of spaces at the service of young artists, for exposure, but also for the creation of new ventures. Children’s parks and green spaces will be created for the local community. According to Margariti, it is expected that this area will be transformed into a new cultural pole in the city, no longer in the center of the city, but on its outskirts, creating other development opportunities for the area.
