“Golden Necklace” – Fitnete Rexha was the concert that followed the festive opening ceremony for the public of the National Opera, Ballet and Folk Ensemble Theatre.

The most beautiful repertoire performed by the queen of popular music of central Albania Fitnete Rexha was performed by the soloists of the Popular Ensemble: Aranit Hoxha, Iris Bega, Mirela Aliaj, Genciana Paparisto, etc. Singers Valbona Mema, Bujar Qamili, Juli Čenko and musician Çim Rexha were also special guests at this concert.

The Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti, was also present among the audience, who expressed “what an atmosphere on the renovated stage of the National Theater of Opera, Ballet and Popular Ensemble.” A real party, surrounded by the most beloved singers of the public and other younger ones, who full of love convey the beautiful Albanian spirit, just like the great Fitnete Rexha once did”.

The party continues”, said Margariti, referring to the presence in the hall of the US Ambassador in Tirana, Yuri Kim, who emphasizes “a wonderful evening in commemoration of the folk music singer Fitnete Rexha, with her songs of neatly interpreted by Bujar Qamili and Valbona Mema, and young people who want to follow in her footsteps. I love Albania”.

Fitnete Rexha, “Honored Artist”, is one of the outstanding singers of the folk music of Central Albania and the folk music of Tirana.

At the age of 15, he sang and recorded his first folk songs at Radio-Tirana in the company of the orchestral group of Central Albania directed by Muharrem Gura (2000) and Skënder Reka. The orchestra consisted of musicians Skënder Reka – accordion, Liu i Nushi and Çerçiz Mehmeti – violin, Reshit Shehu – tambourine, Mustafa Zyberi – clarinet, Riza Selita – double bass, Emil Miloti and Fadili of the Army Ensemble on guitar.

Initially, she started working as a singer in the Estrada of Tirana, and then her activity as a singer developed entirely with the Ensemble of Folk Dances and Dances in Tirana until her retirement in 1981. Among the songs among the most beautiful songs sung by Fitnete Rexha are “To the cypresses of Namazgja”, “Dogs dressed in white”, “Right there at the seven hyacinths”, “Two beauties in one door” etc. He has recorded about 200 folk songs of Central Albania.
