Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation

In a warm atmosphere, among friends, artists, lecturers, students, with the presence of Prime Minister Edi Rama, the first show was given in the renovated Hall of the University of Arts, Tirana

Many decades had to pass until the total reconstruction of the Concert Hall at the University of Arts. Over the years, attempts have been made to make adjustments here and there, but they have been mere patches on the monumental hall built by the Italians in 1942.

The reconstruction of the Hall of the Academy of Arts was an expression of the will of the Albanian Government to respond to the continuous demands of artists and students; a word held in the Covenant for the University.

A missing investment, made possible with good friends, in cooperation with TAP.

An investment of 3.7 million euros, of which TAP has financed 1.7 million euros, while the rest, 2 million euros, is financed by the Albanian Government.

It has been a long and difficult process, as the right formula had to be found to integrate the latest technology in a cultural monument building. The professors of the University of Architecture in Florence, masters in the preservation of cultural heritage, assisted us for this. On the other hand, it has been a long and demanding job in Albanian and Italian archives to find any information that could serve us to preserve the authenticity of the building.

And today we have a hall – cultural heritage, that speaks with the technology of the time, functional and worthy for the artists of the stage and the public.

After almost 3 years of work, on October 20, 2023, this hall was reopened with an evening of friends, who shared memories and emotions related to this scene. Actors, musicians, former students and former teachers: Timo Flloko, Margarita Kristidhi, Kastriot Çaushi, Merita Rexha, Fatos Qerimi, Luiza Xhuvani, Vikena Kamenica, Kastriot Tusha, Enada Hoxha and Gerd Vaso were once again on stage.
