In a ceremony, where the Minister of Culture, Elva Margariti, was also present, the jury of the “Book of Quarantine” Competition announced the three winning authors among the 82 manuscripts participating in this competition.

The jury, consisting of Rita Petro, Durim Abdullahu, Fatmira Aliaj, Ylli Demneri and Loer Kume, has rated the following works as the best books of the “Book of Quarantine” competition:

“Free”, authored by Lum Gashi, with the motivation:

“For touching and describing vividly and minutely the characters and ordinary situations, conveying them powerfully through artistic force; an author who manages to turn everyday life into a great art”.

“Stories”, authored by Ervin Nezhë, with the motivation:

“For the surprising style, the mastery of building characters, as a continuation of a tradition in the genre of Albanian storytelling”.

“Bella Ciao Group”, authored by Vera Bekteshin, with the motivation:

“For the high culture of writing, outstanding characters, irony and humor, through which it ‘draws’ the time of the coronavirus”.

The three winning works will be published by the National Book and Reading Center.
