Art Pavilion in Public Institutions

The “Pavilion” project – Art in Public Institutions, comes as a new initiative of the Ministry of Culture. This project aims to promote and develop art in the spaces of Albanian public institutions, with the aim of including and activating local contemporary artists. Ministry of Culture makes the space of its main lobby available to the “Pavilion” project.
The first invited artist is Genti Korini, who comes with his new installation “Neighbors – Strangers – Neighbors…” The installation ‘Neighbors – Strangers – Neighbors…’ takes into consideration the railings that are so present in the urban space of Tirana. They function as delimiters, dividers, markers of private property. Their appearance, often “threatening, exclusionary”, does not differ from the decorations they carry.
This installation proposes a new choreography for these objects, in this way stripping them of their primary role of ‘threatening exclusion’ and giving them a new role of connections and repetitions.
