Ministria e Ekonomisë, Kulturës dhe Inovacionit

Dear Prime Minister,
Dear colleagues,
Distinguished guests,
Ladies and gentlemen,

It is a privilege to welcome you to Match Maker Albania 2025.

We are honored to host such a diverse and distinguished group of participants from over 36 countries across the globe. Your presence here today is a clear reflection of the growing interest and confidence in Albania as a destination for investment and innovation.

Over 500 foreign investors, 200 Albanian companies, and more than 30 elite exporters are here today. We are also proud to present more than 30 public and private investment-ready projects, spanning a wide range of sectors.

This event is more than a matchmaking platform. It is a reflection of the momentum Albania has built.

Foreign direct investment in 2024 reached 1.6 billion euros, the highest in our history. This is not a coincidence. It is the result of hard work, reforms, and vision. Countries like Türkiye, Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, and Kosovo have led the way in investing in Albania—strengthening ties and opening new chapters of cooperation.

Nobel laureate Paul Romer, used to say:

“Economic growth occurs whenever people take resources and rearrange them in ways that are more valuable.”

I believe this quote not only captures the spirit of this event, but it also represents exactly what we are doing in Albania. We are rearranging the resources of our nation—its people, its ideas, its natural beauty—into something more dynamic, more open, and more valuable to the world.

Today, we are also proud to witness the signing of five new Memorandums of Understanding—with Kosovo, North Macedonia, Serbia, Great Britain, and Kazakhstan. These agreements are more than diplomatic gestures. They are commitments to collaborate, to exchange knowledge, and to invest in one another’s growth.

While this event was initially focused on tourism and real estate, the interest it has attracted spans far wider. From technology and innovation, to agribusiness, manufacturing, energy, finance, healthcare, and more. Albania’s economic profile is changing—and it is changing fast.

We believe this transformation must be inclusive and sustainable. That is why the Ministry of Economy, Culture and Innovation is committed to supporting every investor and every entrepreneur who shares this vision. We are here not just to promote growth—but to shape it.

Let me conclude by thanking AIDA for organizing this event with such professionalism and vision. And to all our guests—thank you for being part of this moment. Your presence gives us confidence that Albania’s future is bright, dynamic, and deeply connected to the global economy.

I wish you fruitful discussions and productive connections.

Welcome to Albania.

Welcome to Match Maker 2025.

Thank you.
